As part of our Block Watch Grant, we are again providing free luminaria bags and lights FREE TO ALL OUR NEIGHBORS!  The reusable bags are durable plastic and the LED tea lights are EASY To operate and long lasting (200 hours).  No messing with matches and wax candles!  We invite you to join and participate with the celebration of light for the holidays.

Notes:
1. The bags should be located as shown above, on the inside edge of your sidiwalk, closer to your house.
2. The LED light is not very heavy so be sure to put some weight in each bag so they don't get blown over... a small rock or stone can work well enough.

Our Fall Alley Clean Up this past Saturday December 7th, was great.... great neighbors, great weather, and  was easy and breezy with the use of our new power equipment, provided through our 2023 Block Watch Grant.  Click below to see pictures of the day.

Del Norte Place Neighborhood Association will continue its meetings in 2025 at the Phoenix College Willo Conference Room.  Phoenix College has been generous to provide this space free of any charges and we gratefully appreciate their support.  There are potentially other options we can look into. but for now it's a nice place at zero expense.  I hope that neighbors who have not participated in attending these meetings will consider visiting one.  Going forward, we are discussing the termination of using a remote option, as it has very minimal attendance with consideration to the amount of effort it takes to set up.  To keep it going we need additional volunteer technical help.  If anyone would like to offer their time with this, we invite you to reach out.

More Good News!

As of April 19th, 2023 we are officially recognized by the IRS as a private foundation, granting exemption from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3).  Donors can deduct contributions they make to Del Norte Place Neighborhood Association (DNPNA) under IRC Section 170.  We also are now qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.

We hit the ground running with 2 fund raisers over the weekend with our Earth Day Neighborhood Plant Sale on April 22nd, and our assisting Abby Guiver with her estate sale on the same weekend.  Abby was very generous to donate 50% of sale proceeds to the Del Norte Place Neighborhood Association.  These two events grossed us just over $1,800!  All those who donated and those who purchased from the plant sale can opt to claim charitable donation status on your contributions and purchase as is listed within the IRS guidelines.  We are so grateful to all of our neighbors and those who have provided patronage for our events.  We continue to move onward and upward as we anticipate future events for the benefit of our historic 96 year old neighborhood.

Thank you, from your DNPNA Steering Committee elected officers:
Tim Smith, Heather Finden, Michele Smith and Sharon Torre
